In a Singapore hotel casino elevator, a bellboy faces a dilemma: love for the investor's girlfriend or his aspirations.
I loved the snappy script of Elevator. It was smart, hindi paliguy-ligoy, makatotohanan pero hindi siya walang puso. Nandun pa rin yung pagiging sentimental at lalim ng story every time it's needed. (Sobrang Ganda)
βElevator is a must-see if only for its original concept. [...] The onscreen romance between Paulo Avelino and Kylie Verzosa is swoon-worthy because of the great working chemistry between them.
ββElevatorβ is actually a far more interesting movie than what it pretends to be. It hits harder as a love letter to migrant workers with hopes and dreams for making it big. (4/5)
βPleasant from start to finish, Elevator is a sweet little film that has a lot to tell. (3.5/5)
βIn a world where you sometimes only have less than a minute to impress somebody, it's better to ride it out with someone who vibes with you, and that's something I can get behind. This film sure impressed me. (3.5/5)
βIt is an inspirational romantic comedy that shines with its charming cast with their believable performance. The film got elevated with its inspiring story on love, life and career. (3.5/5)
βIn only his second film as writer-director, Philip King does very well telling the story from Jared's point of view first, then filling in the missing details from Bettina's side. This style allowed both his charismatic lead stars to shine. (7/10)
βThe insertion of usual romcom tropes was unnecessary. The OFW angle was a missed opportunity. The perspective of being a worker and being a businessman was not there. The success story was cut short, and this πππ¦π·π’π΅π°π³ didnβt land on top of its game. (1.34/5)
βA gorgeously shot and well-acted feel-good rom-com that's actually smarter than how it looks, this one's a pleasant surprise. (3/5)
β[...] nagbabago na talaga ang taste ko sa pelikula! Usually pag romcoms madali ako makarelate. [It took a while] bago [ko] nakapitan ito pero hindi kapit na kapit. (2/5)
β"Elevator" heavily benefits from the palpable chemistry between Paulo Avelino and Kylie Verzosa and their performances are one of the filmβs few redeeming qualities. (2/5)
