In "Piaya Moon," the clash between traditions vs. modernity was brought up multiple times [...]. Different generations will answer this question differently, but me, I am a sucker for this type of sentimentality and positivity. (9/10)

Jeff Moses impressively leads Kurt Soberano's fun, heartwarming and sweet self-discovery through food and tradition. The subtitles may not fully translate in English what some of the dialogues meant but there are no language barriers in how the story transcends to its audience. (4/5)

Strongest suit ng pelikulang ito ang cinematography. Nakaka in love yung visual ng pelikula. Yung mga kuha sa mga pastries talagang katakam takam. Master class itong Under A Piaya Moon pagdating sa color grading. (Maganda)

What makes [Piaya] so good is its hyper-locality; this is a story that couldn’t have been told by other voices or in other settings. It is a meticulously crafted representation of its culture and its time, with a surprising amount of relevance to modern audiences.

It sometimes loses its momentum at some points but the finished product is still fine. At some points it goes into the process of making these pastries and those are honestly my favorite parts of the film. (3.5/5)

The technical elements of this film didn’t disappoint. [...] The movie has assorted messages, and they aren’t mixed evenly. [...] In the end, no message stood out. (1.84/5)

The film's effort and willingness to provide an experience are what makes it worthwhile. The movie is not flawless either. Sound design and editing definitely need a polish. (6.5/10)

Once Joel Torre enters the picture, though, the film finds a stronger rhythm. It is such a fine performance that it practically makes the film worth recommending on its own. (3/5)

I felt hungry while watching this movie! Ang ganda ng visuals most especially yung mga kuha sa pagkain, katakam takam na tipong gusto magteleport sa loob ng pinilakang tabing para tikman ang mga pagkain! (3/5)
