Generally positive reviews
Azon, with a kind heart, meets scarred divorcee Joey. A tale of love, sacrifice, and aging in elderly workers.
By all standards, the film should have been predictable and unexciting. [...] In the hands of Mr. De Leon, and especially Ms. Santos, the film reaches a higher standard.
βVilma and Christopher first worked together in Tag-ulan sa Tag-araw in 1975. After almost half a century, their chemistry still works magnificently.
βMake no mistake - the power of the Vilma/Boyet love team is alive and well even after 40 years [...], they still bring the 'kilig' factor in telling a very touching tale of finding love even in your twilight years. (A-)
βMahirap hindi kiligin sa pinaggagawa nila. Regardless of your age, prepare to fall in love when you meet them. 2.7/5
βWho would say that love is for younger people only, in this film it shows that love is for all ages.
βSwabe ang daloy ng istorya, tipikal ang kwento pero aliw ang dagdag na komedya. 7/10
βVilma is compelling as always, switching from comedy, to heavy drama with the blink of an eye. Boyet is especially hilarious during the honeymoon scene; if you didnβt at least smile during that scene, then I dunno maybe youβre the grinch who stole Christmas. (3.5/5)
βMay cute na start yung pelikula, na for sure ikatutuwa ng mga fans ng ating nag-iisang Star for All Seasons. Pagdating ng second half, it felt like it outstayed its welcome. (Pwede Na)
βEven if, as a person who reviews films, I find the film flawed or lacking, it nevertheless fills up all the places that it should. 3/5
βSantos at 70 and de Leon at 67 looked very good, still able to elicit romantic thrills with their killer onscreen chemistry. 6/10
βSometimes, simplicity is better, and this could have been the mantra for "When I Met You in Tokyo" when refining its story. The film tried to do too much but didn't have the execution to pull it off. (3/5)
βAppealing and pleasant as it is, but it lacks focus and direction in the story. 5.2/10
βThe only good thing about this film is that it brings Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon together again on the big screen. Feels like it's a decade or two too late. 2.5/5
βUndeniable chemistry between Vilma and Christipher de Leon but thatβs the only selling point of the film. Story was expected and didnβt necessarily go anywhere. (2.5/5)
βI guess it's kind of cute? But the movie runs out of story about halfway through, and there's still an hour of it left. 2/5
βFun and light at first until the second half! [...] As a big romcom fan, naghahanap na ako ng bagong flavor for this genre. (2/5)
