When I Met You in Tokyo

By all standards, the film should have been predictable and unexciting. [...] In the hands of Mr. De Leon, and especially Ms. Santos, the film reaches a higher standard.

Vilma and Christopher first worked together in Tag-ulan sa Tag-araw in 1975. After almost half a century, their chemistry still works magnificently.

Make no mistake - the power of the Vilma/Boyet love team is alive and well even after 40 years [...], they still bring the 'kilig' factor in telling a very touching tale of finding love even in your twilight years. (A-)

Who would say that love is for younger people only, in this film it shows that love is for all ages.

Vilma is compelling as always, switching from comedy, to heavy drama with the blink of an eye. Boyet is especially hilarious during the honeymoon scene; if you didn’t at least smile during that scene, then I dunno maybe you’re the grinch who stole Christmas. (3.5/5)

May cute na start yung pelikula, na for sure ikatutuwa ng mga fans ng ating nag-iisang Star for All Seasons. Pagdating ng second half, it felt like it outstayed its welcome. (Pwede Na)

Even if, as a person who reviews films, I find the film flawed or lacking, it nevertheless fills up all the places that it should. 3/5

Santos at 70 and de Leon at 67 looked very good, still able to elicit romantic thrills with their killer onscreen chemistry. 6/10

Sometimes, simplicity is better, and this could have been the mantra for "When I Met You in Tokyo" when refining its story. The film tried to do too much but didn't have the execution to pull it off. (3/5)
